Singer-Songwriter/Educator/Music Therapist
Aleksandra Denda is a multifaceted vocalist, songwriter, educator and music therapist who’s been featured on Grammy and Emmy nominated projects and albums, performed at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center and MoMA museum and shared the bill with some of the greatest musicians of today’s scene including Snarky Puppy, Bilal, Matthew Garrison, Patrice Rushen, Thana Alexa, Marko Djordjevic and many more. As much at home in Jazz and Neo Soul, as in traditional Balkan singing among other World Music genres, her work explores the middle ground between cultures and genres, while honoring ancestral traditions. She is a co-founder of ROSA - an all-female a cappella group whose mission is to preserve and nurture the dwindling folk art of traditional Serbian singing. In 2020, as a leader and member of ROSA, she was featured on title song of Thana Alexa’s album ONA, which garnered two Grammy nominations, including Best Jazz Vocal Album.
Currently finishing her Master’s in Music Therapy at ESMUC, she believes that by encouraging clients to explore their inner selves through music, they can gain a deeper understanding of themselves, build more meaningful relationships and improve their overall well-being.
